The Slow Living Movement is lifestyle movement mindset that rejects hustle culture and endless multi-tasking. It encourages consciously slowing down the pace of life, prioritizing quality over quantity, present-moment awareness, and meaningful connections with themselves, others, and the environment. That is the Slow Living Movement. Here are a few of things it encompasses:
- Intentionality: Making choices in line with personal values rather than following externally imposed standards and fast-paced societal expectations.
- Quality Over Quantity: Invest in fewer, higher-quality items, focusing on deep, meaningful relationships, and cherish rich experiences over material accumulation.
- Sustainability and Minimalism: Green and minimalist living by reducing waste, consuming thoughtfully, and supporting local or artisanal production.
It’s about “tempo gusto” – finding the right speed for every task, slowing down to rest and reflect as well as acting with urgency when needed.
