THE MITCHELL’S VS THE MACHINES; REVIEW

Sony Pictures Animation’s The Mitchell’s vs the Machines is a great movie for the whole family and one of the best animated films this year! You can catch it on Netflix.

It’s about a dysfunctional family that has to safe the earth as young quirky Katie Mitchell goes on a road trip with her parents, little brother and their dog to start her first year at film school but their electronic devices come to life to stage an uprising. Two friendly robots help out and, the Mitchells must now come together to save one another and the world from a technological revolution.

Directed by Mike Rianda (feature directorial debut) and co-directed by Jeff Rowe (also written by both of them) it is produced by Phil Lord (Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs) Christopher Miller and Kurt Albrecht.
This is a charming, fun, smart and very-on-it film that oozes energy throughout.
Every member of the family will enjoy this cleverly done filmmaking.  There is great messaging throughout. and the Voice cast is perfect and they even cast one of today's best serious actresses as a voice of an AI. Brilliant!  The film's voice cast also includes: Abbi Jacobson, Danny McBride, Maya Rudolph, Rianda, Eric Andre, Fred Arminsen, Beck Bennet, John Legend, Chrissy Teigen, Blake Griffith and Conan O'Brien.
Producers Lord and Miller have now officially created a signature style that is filled with stunning visuals and offbeat humor that stands out from other animation today. The animation itself is so beautiful and the script strong from the opening scene. This is a must-see, no matter what age you are.
