Studios are again looking to sequels such as Spiderman: Brand New Day this summer to bank on but they’re smaller low-budget original horror films that have been doing so well. Shockingly – why are they doing well in troubled times in the world? Don’t people want to escape into happiness? No. Horror films of today are playing well against the high budget tent-poles. 2. Another trend today is Artificial Intelligence that now is being used a lot for editing and other things when making movies. Now used as core infrastructure. 3. Social media impressions are trending like never before. So important to the success of a film from how you pick the actors to star based other popularity, to viral campaigns that are as important as the traditional junkets were we interview the celebrities. 4. Sadly for LA, globalization continues to take business out of Hollywood. Studios are still going elsewhere to shoot. Wanting those tax incentives from countries such as South Korea, India, and Eastern Europe.
