TONY AWARDS: ‘O‘MAYBE HAPPY ENDING’ TAKES 6 WINS AT RADIO CITY MUSIC HALL

Maybe Happy Ending took 6 wins at the 2025 Tony Awards. It won Best Musical, Best Musical Actor (Darren Criss), Best Musical Director, Best Book of a Musical, Best Original Score, and Best Scenic Design for a Musical. His acceptance speech was dynamic and very gracious that touted many others. Producer Jeffrey Richards gave the speech when it won and was gracious is acknowledging others. They thanked those who came out to see Broadway this year and to all their family members who support them as they live out their dreams of bring on Broadway.

Best Performance by an actress in a Leading role in a Musical went to Nicole Scherzinger for Sunset Boulevard. She beat mega Broadway star and who was favored to win due to surveys of Tony voters – favorite Audra McDonald for Mama Rose in Gypsy.

Best Play went to Purpose surprisingly beat Oh, Mary! 

Three-time Oscar nominee Cynthia Eric Erivo, hosted with an opening of a powerful performance of “Sometimes All You Need Is a Song” and a great closing too with her memorable voice.

Best Director of a Play went to Sam Pinkleton for Oh, Mary! which Cole Escola also won Best Actor in a Play for their funny roles of Mary Todd Lincoln as a cabaret performer. Cole accepted the award in full gown, nails and hair.

Playing 26 different characters, Sarah Snook tookBest Actress in a Play for her first Broadway role in The Picture of Dorian Graythe play that also won Best Costume Design.

Featured Actor winners were Francis Jue, who won for Yellow Face, and Jak Malone, who won for Operation Mincemeat: A New Musical

Best Featured Actress in a Play was won by Kara Young for Purpose. Best Featured Actress in a Musical was won by first time nominee Natalie Venetia Belcon for Buena Vista Social Club.
