Universal Pictures great action scenes in Dev Patel’s directorial debut with Monkey Man make it a good watch. Riveting and knowing that this a is his first time out as a director says he has much greatness ahead of him as he grows from this launch pad. He also co-wrote the screenplay with Paul Angunawela and John Collee.
The action thriller sees a young man avenging his mother Neela’s murder. Her son (Kid) played by Patel has to face the two parts of his existence. He’s on a mission to get revenge against the one responsible for his mothers murder who inspired him with tales of Hanuman. Baba Shakti was a ruthless spiritual guru in a nearby city. Steamers in India were cautious about running a movie that deals with religion and politics though this movie does not make fun of any thing. He’s got chops. Anxious to see his next outing.
